. . . Are Yours Fully Charged

Many hiking and back packing enthusiasts find that there’s nothing better than clearing off into the back country for a few days, hiking along a familiar (or unfamiliar) hiking trail to recharge your batteries. You come home relaxed, refreshed and ready for anything which the office can throw at you . . . but what about the batteries which you take with you on your hiking trip, for those electronic gadgets which you just couldn’t bear to hike without, are they fully charged and up to the hiking job, there’s nowhere to buy more batteries when you’re halfway up a mountain pass or hiking into the back of beyond (or the middle of the back of beyond . . . have you ever been there . . . I can recommend it, it’s great).

Batteries For Hiking Equipment

Fortunately for us, many pieces of electronic hiking equipment actually use the same size batteries, there are a few “universal” sizes of battery which more or less sort the electronic equipment you’ll need for your hike, and even more fortunately for us hikers and backpackers around the world, these are largely available in rechargeable form. Make sure when you’re planning your next hiking trip that all of your rechargeable batteries are fully charged and ready for action . . . don’t ever mix rechargeable and disposable batteries coz that’s dangerous. It’s always a good idea to carry a few spares in your back pack (they’re batteries, they’re small, they weigh very little and you’ll be in a sorry mess without them).

Check out your electronic hiking equipment but you will probably find that a good selection of AA, and AAA and batteries will sort out much of your hiking gear, with the odd C and D thrown in for good measure.

Hey they look like rifle shells don’t they? I wondered what he was going to do with it for a minute . . . but that glow in the dark one is cool, especially if your flashlight batteries have run out of power! Some people have just thought of everything to make a hiking trip easier and more enjoyable haven’t they.

How about a hike up Half Dome to recharge your batteries . . . just watching this video has done a great job for me, I feel exhausted and revitalized all at the same time, that’s weird isn’t it?
