Stuff You Wear On Your Head When You’re Hiking The Trail

Alright I can hear you thinking . . . hats! Wrong, hikers have much more choice of what to wear on their heads when they go off into the wilderness on a backpacking trip than a hat you know (although goodness knows there are some great hiking hats available too). When you think a little further “outside the box” about hiking headwear you’ll realize that there’s also a great choice of;
- Face masks – masquerade ball anyone?
- Headbands – not sure why John McEnroe always springs to mind when anyone ever says “headband” . . . and I don’t even know if he’s a keen hiker.
- Scarves – possibly the most versatile piece of hiking headwear around . . . with just a little imagination.
- Neck gaiters – can’t think of anything to say about those yet . . . but I will in a minute, trust me!
There, I found a video about neck gaiters instead. Just a word of warning . . . beware of teenage girls who might fancy using your neck gaiter as a skirt . . . well, that’s what they like to call them.
