Waterproof Socks

Oooh, Tell Me More!

Waterproof socks might sound a little unusual, in fact, it’s a very bold claim indeed, but there are some designs of waterproof socks which keep your feet nice and dry . . . even if your hiking boots or trail shoes are soaking wet.

Types of Waterproof Socks

Waterproof socks are really available in two basic designs.

    • Some waterproof socks are kind of like “wetsuits for the feet” and trap a warm layer of body heat next to your feet keeping them snug and warm even if you are hiking in extreme wet or windy weather. These type are generally worn instead of any other type of hiking socks, although you could always pop a pair of liner socks underneath them if you wanted to, if you had the room in your hiking boots.
    • Other waterproof socks are designed to be a waterproof layer over your regular socks to keep your feet toasty, warm and dry, even if your hiking boots or walking shoes are soaking wet through.  These are great for hiking and backpacking, but also very popular among cyclists (you get a lot of water splashing up around your feet when you’re cycling through puddles, and cold, wet feet can really spoil your day).

Great test dude . . . that’s exactly what we were talking about!
